Repetitive listening is one of the best ways to train your ears for a new language. The idea is simple: the more you listen, the more familiar the language becomes—like a favorite song on repeat. Here’s how you can use this audio clip in your daily routine to boost your English skills.

Step 1: Pair It With an Existing Habit

Pick an activity you already do every day. This is key.

Here are some examples:

  • Brushing your teeth (2 minutes, twice a day)

  • Washing the dishes

  • Exercising (running, walking, stretching)

  • Commuting (on the bus, subway, or walking)

Whenever you do this activity, play the audio file.

No excuses—it’s part of the routine now!

Step 2: Click Repeat

The repeat button is your secret weapon. Play the audio file over and over during the activity. Repetition helps your brain recognize the sounds, patterns, and rhythm of English.

Don’t worry if you don’t understand everything (or anything). That’s not the goal right now. Just get comfortable hearing the language. Relax and let the words flow into your ears.

Step 3: Don’t Overthink It

Here’s the best part: you don’t have to do anything else.

  • Don’t try to memorize words.

  • Don’t focus on grammar.

  • Don’t stress about meaning.

This is just about exposure—like background music for your life. Trust the process.

Step 4: Experience the Story in Class

Later, when we meet in class, we’ll go over the story together. We’ll bring it to life:

  • Acting out the scenes.

  • Talking about the characters.

  • Sharing how the story made you feel.

Because you’ve already heard the audio so many times, you’ll be surprised how much you recognize and understand. That’s the power of repetitive listening!

Why It Works

Repetitive listening:

  • Trains your ears to hear English sounds clearly.

  • Helps you feel comfortable with the language.

  • Builds confidence without pressure to perform.

By combining this habit with something you already do daily, you’ll sneak English practice into your life effortlessly.

Start Today!

Choose your habit, grab your audio player, and hit repeat.

Small, consistent actions lead to big results.

Trust the process, and soon you’ll feel more confident and natural with English.

What habit will you pair with this audio? Share it with me in class! 😊
